Wolves needed to trade down from the #1 pick because Ant was going to be Wiggins 2.0.
We should make a deal with Atlanta, get a promising young wing in Cam Reddish and be able to grab up the sleeper of the draft, Killian Hayes, with Atlanta's pick.
I wanted to trade Anthony Edwards for Cam Reddish and Killian Hayes.
You would've fit in well with the wolves front office back in the day lmao
Would have made David Kahn look like Jerry West with that move
Man, that was so bad not even the Wolves front office would do it lol.
And the Wolves front office traded five firsts for RUDY FUCKING GOBERT!!!!
oh my god same here
i can't believe i really thought Ant was overrated......probably because i want melo to go #1 so bad
Good god that takes some balls to admit, I respect that
The football comments pre-draft are harmless jokes in hindsight, but at the time our fanbase had serious Wiggins PTSD and were nervous about the prospect of drafting another dude with a low motor
Crazy that looking back now we can see how those comments were just part of his personality/humor, but at the time people really were going crazy over whether or not he “cared” about basketball.
I definitely think he’s one of the few NBA players that could’ve actually been a star in the NFL too though. Freak ass athlete
It takes more than just being a freak athlete to do well in the nfl though. Like how many players his size do well in the nfl? Not many unless you’re a QB or on the line, which I doubt he’d be either?
Cmon now, Maple Jordan doesn’t have a low motor. It’s just that maple syrup has a higher viscosity.
Time will tell on that one.
That's nba champ Wiggins fam
I still to this day believe in Cam reddish. I think I have a mental illness
I had a similar idea with the Cavs in 2011.
I thought Derrick Williams was really close in talent to Kyrie Irving and the Cavs needed a PG and a SF. My grand idea was they could take Williams #1 and then Brandon Knight #4.
Respect for the honesty, this would’ve been worse than the Gobert trade
Are you Kevin O'Connor?
This is some peak Reddit analyst shit lmao
It was the covid year. Nobody knew shit about shit. Even though that’s usually the case, it was doubly true that year.
This isn't even honestly that bad.
The perspective of "trade #1 pick for lower pick and young starter probably would yield decent results in like 40-50% of all drafts. It's a slightly against the flow opinion statistically.
In this instance obviously looks worse but no one can really know draft day or ahead of it what these guys will be unless its a Lebron type.
I just got a RemindMe the other day…
…It was in a thread about sleeper picks in 2021 - I said going into the 2024 season teams would regret passing up on him… ahaha, oops.
Bro. You should just stop watching basketball.
Sounds fair. Let’s do it
Wolves fans are sp00ky
KOC?
I would have taken this to the grave.
Life's too short to not laugh at yourself when you were an idiot.
