This is just as much on his teammates as it is on Rudy. When he catches the ball, there are momentarily 3 guys crowding him, which kills his move (he also catches the ball in terrible position, which is on him). He continues to get doubled, and none of his teammates make themselves good targets for the pass, all hanging out around the perimeter which allows the Bulls to effectively cover 4 with 3. By the time someone finally starts to move, Rudy’s done for.
Delusional
13 and 6 both moved to open spots, Gobert saw them late. He had 2 wing players open the entire possession. Even if one of them cut, Gobert would've got stripped trying to make the pass.
man he's 7'1 being crowded by midgets. just pass the damn ball over their heads
🤣 Please man... He catches the ball and had enough time to turn and shoot. There's no reason to not go for the basket. He should realise that there's a mismatch immediately, even before he is passed the ball.
Sounds like a bunch of excuses. Especially after seeing Wembanyama highlights.
Rudy was the tallest person on the floor and gets ragdolled
Careful now, explain too much and people here might begin to learn the fundamentals of basketball
I think the fundamentals of basketball is scoring…
Try telling that to a good basketball coach. They’ll laugh at you and then tell you to go do off-ball movement drills and defensive slides
Had to scroll way too long to get to this.
I can't believe how far down I had to look to find an actual correct basketball take/understanding here. Like how is getting doubled with a stagnant offense HIS fault? You got 1 guy cutting AWAY instead of to and 3 players sitting outside with no movement even though 2 are being cover by 1 defender sitting on a split line between them. /R/NBA just wants to clown gobert for some reason. It all it shows it how little all these user actually know about basketball.
because its a matter of KYP. defense knows exactly who Gobert is and is comfortable swarming him cause he has no handles or passing ability so he'll panic. it's like when you run press on guys who can't dribble cause they'll probably turn it over
