😂😂😂😂 it's so hilarious whenever dudes just hold the ball
4 first round picks for this shit?
I was taught at age 11 the correct thing to do when I was being given the baseline because the defender was cheating toward the lane.
It's a pretty simple little drop step, seal, power dribble, explode up for the dunk/layup.
If I could do this at 11, you can do it now, Rudy.
U dunked at 11…boss
How is this guy STILL this bad at basketball? No feet, no hands, no composure. Unless a guard “here comes the airplane” him’s every play he ends up looking like this with the rock.
People were down voting me saying the trade for him was a huge L just a few weeks ago at most
This is just as much on his teammates as it is on Rudy. When he catches the ball, there are momentarily 3 guys crowding him, which kills his move (he also catches the ball in terrible position, which is on him). He continues to get doubled, and none of his teammates make themselves good targets for the pass, all hanging out around the perimeter which allows the Bulls to effectively cover 4 with 3. By the time someone finally starts to move, Rudy’s done for.
Sounds like a bunch of excuses. Especially after seeing Wembanyama highlights.
Rudy was the tallest person on the floor and gets ragdolled
Careful now, explain too much and people here might begin to learn the fundamentals of basketball
A lot of guys don’t have touch but Gobert’s offensive game sense is really baffling sometimes considering how much basketball he’s played. I know passing is a sticky skill and centers rarely ever become as good as Sabonis, Bam, or Horford but I don’t think I’ve seen many centers just freeze up like this.
That’s honestly pathetic.
😂 Gobert is a silly dude
The comment section is braindead
Dude literally got triple teamed.
He had a few seconds to shoot over someone a foot shorter than him before he got trapped
Rudy’s offensive game is limited, that shouldn’t be surprising to no one
So therefore there are two other teammates open. Can’t shoot for shit and getting triple teamed? Look for one of two open men.
the ones that are just standing there at the perimeter? passing is a two-person act, the receiver has to make themselves available...especially when we're talking about the ball handler being the team's defense-oriented center
It's almost like a triple team you didn't expect could make that pass hard
The pass window is really short and people are clowning Rudy for not being Jokic. Off ball movement is really bad on the play.
thank god you said this i was starting to believe i was the insane one for wanting to cut a guy some slack for getting triple teamed while the rest of his team just stood still. height advantage doesn't make that much of a difference when you're getting absolutely smothered like that, theres no space to do anything.
like yeah gobert fucked up here but shit happens sometimes and the defense played it really well. people here r just taking the opportunity to dogpile on him because they dont like him.
Sadly most people here can't recognize the most basic defensive schemes just "lul he turned it over"
Tbf those are solid rotations by the Bulls
And why did he get triple teamed?
Cause he asked for the ball and settled in a bad spot for himself (would've been fine for most bigs but it's a bad spot for Rudy). Dude couldn't get himself in a better position with Jevon Carter guarding him in the post.
Cause he didn't immediately take advantage of having the 6'1 Jevon Carter defending him 1v1 to score.
Cause he told his teammate to cut and panicked and didn't know what to do when he got double teamed and he couldn't pass it.
Cause no one is afraid of Rudy Gobert with the ball in his hands cause everyone knows if Rudy tries to do anything but put the ball in the hoop within 3 feet of the basket or pass out immediately when he has the ball he has no idea what to do with the ball.
Embarrassing
So, uh, why did Minnesota send that huge haul for a guy who has 0 scoring instinct even with a mismatch on him, close to the basket on top of that? Truly I wonder…
Their GM isn't a Timberwolves fan
Because kat do offense and gobie do defense
Was an easy backwards pass to the guy going back door to at minimum reset on what was now a triple team..
Why wont he hire Hakeem, is he stupid?
Oddly reminiscent of no squads rec in 2k24 lmao
"too open"
"too open"
"too open"
"too open"
"Aw shit"
As a big, you only really need three post moves, a go-to, a counter and a counter to that counter.
Rudy unfortunately has zero and that's depressing.
Gobert somehow ended up killing a man in that scuffle
there were three guys converging on him and only one of them thought to go to the basket.
I've always wondered why this defensive strategy isn't more common. Like, usually, the guys that get aggressively double-teamed are your Steph Currys and your Damian Lillards, where you're trying to force the ball out of their hands so they don't break you down off the dribble. The thing is, though, these guys are typically very skilled at passing out of double teams, so usually all that happens is that they get the ball to a teammate and reset the possession; it doesn't lead to a turnover or anything. Whereas if you saw that a poor-dribbling, poor-passing big man had the ball, it seems like swarming him would have a much greater chance of causing him to panic and cough up the ball, which would create a much bigger advantage for your team.
Gobert should’ve gone faster, but Troy Brown should’ve stayed in the corner to keep Demar honest. That cut made no sense.
He did stop and thought about backing out but Gobert told him to keep going, lol.
And even if Brown stayed put, what was Gobert gonna do? Dude has zero post game and is a shitty passer. When Gobert gets the ball he needs to pass it back out or put it in the hoop asap cause he has no idea what to do with the ball.
Shits embarrassing
foul and a half jfc
Look at him get pushed out of the lane on the catch lol
And people say Giannis has no bag
Good on the Bulls.
Gobert SUCKS.
Bro pulled a Ben Simmons, and the Jazz have their picks for the future……
Least awkward looking uncoordinated Gobert play
Statistically passing to Gobert down low is a good idea. The problem is there are enough of these plays to make it seem like it's not in the eyes of players.
Yikes
Wolves fans: holy shit, he caught the ball!!!
