After silently judging as I scrolled through posts riddled with hot takes from 5 years ago I thought...

What are your hottest takes about how the NBA will look 5 years from now? (Go wild with your guesses, nobody will be judging you......)

My hot takes are

  1. Josh Giddy will be in the MVP race
  2. The Booklyn Nets will have either made or won the finals due to Bridges and Ben Simmons showing out
  3. LeBron will continue to refuse to retire, while still putting up 18/4/4. And will blame it on wanting to play with his wife's uncles barbers daughters stepson 17 years from now.

Lmao love how this is consistently copied and pasted on every one of these type of threads

probably because he's a near seven-footer that relies almost entirely on athleticism and has very few skills that will translate as he gets older such as a post game or a jumpshot

that's just a guess, though

Why do people say Giannis relies almost entirely on athleticism. Y’all act like footwork, finishing/touch, defensive positioning, playmaking, rebounding, and rim protection aren’t skills. The only skill Giannis doesn’t have is shooting.

you named a whole mess of attributes and precisely two of them translate to losing a step to age or injury, dude: finishing is a product of his innate athleticism and blowby potential, his playmaking is a product of his gravity, his rebounding is a product of his build and height and his rim protection is a product of his incredible ability to recover and leap

his footwork and his defensive positioning may translate, but that's really all you're going to maintain into the twilight of your career if you don't age as gracefully as lebron

Giannis definitely has a post game.

I couldn’t care less why it’s posted, I just find it funny that almost every other player gets different takes about him in these type of threads but for Giannis it’s just decline, injuries, fall off, give upvote😂. Kind of reminds me of all the people who said Bron would be out of the league at 33

giannis gets these same takes because he's the only player in the NBA that has as much of a reliance on his athleticism and build as much as he does, lol: it's not "funny how everyone gets different takes", it's because giannis is entirely anomalous to how players in the NBA succeed

athleticism and ability to play based on build are on short timers

ergo: people think giannis is headed for imminent decline

no one thought bron would be "out of the league" at 33 lmao you're making people up

You cant read and thats ok

You're forgetting Lebron without athleticism is basically karl malone + 90% of stockton with worse 3pt shot

Giannis without athleticism is still more athletic than about 80% of the NBA lol there are literally zero 7 footers that move like him, not even mentioning he will still have his touch
