Ignoring any contracts involving injuries etc.

For an active player to be making $25M a year on 8 PPG. Yes he’s good on the defensive end, but as far as offensive production… $100M for a 33 year old who averaged 8 PPG in the last 3 seasons?

The offensive value for any other player with average defense would be $10M or less. I just don’t see an additional $15M worth on the defensive end.

Maybe Rodman? In 96/97 he made $9M for about 5 ppg. Now add in the context that the salary cap was $24 M, and I think it's a strong case. Yes, there were different rules about signing your own players, but still, gotta be up there.

Exactly what I’m asking. Rodman was super impactful everywhere else other than PPG and got paid for it.
