A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

I have been getting contacted nonstop by Kevin Micheal schmitz's sales reps, and every single time they're quoting outrageous prices for workshops that are spread out across the world.. they've tried to convince me to go into debt for them and they will not stop contacting me. Obviously they need me to sign up & do these workshops! Today after blocking the 15th number they found a way to get a new one and call me with a discount, 2k for a in person chat on zoom ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I'm wondering if any of you have been experiencing these kinds of sharks or if any of you have taken these workshops yourselves. The fact that they are lowering their prices tells me they're getting desperate.. You know if the stalking and constant calls aren't telling me that already haha but if you guys have done this or have good information or a review for me, I'd truly appreciate it. They are truly hunting me down and telling me how great Kevin is, but I'm very careful with my money these days and in the economy 2k for zoom calls seems to be excessive to ask.. I mean the audacity?! Hahaha

ยฃ2k for zoom workshops?

Yea! Their other work shops that are actually in person, are listed as some obnoxious amount like 10k and that's not even covering travel, food or lodging ๐Ÿ˜ฉ and it only goes up from there lol

Whaaat. Who'd pay that? I know photography with the gear is an expensive hobby but that's outrageous.

I do multi drop couriering and it's 51p per delivery, i can't deny i once fell into a temporary disillusioned state of depression when i saw what someone was charging for a walkabout workshop in a city, as good as they are. Very much 'yeah you could do three workshops a month I'd need to deliver 1000 parcels to match'. I only say this because my specific type of photography isn't generic garbage, but its value might as well be. It could be worse, i could be 55 years old in the same position rather than still old but not quite 55 years old old.

I make good enough money but I'm in Dallas, Texas and everything is crazy expensive right now ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I do mostly weddings and major events and that pays some bills. These guys tried to tell me it'd be ok to go into credit card debt for them and said that if I take these workshops I'll somehow start getting a crazy amount of higher paying work, half the time they ignore that my market is wedding/event because their workshops are all geared towards fashion photography, which I don't really do because it never really pays and you have to be very well connected to get higher paying jobs.

I really want to see REAL reviews from people who have done these who aren't sales.
