I’ve been really into headphones for many years, but only now have I really started to research into things properly. Had a set of open back Sennys when I was much younger, but were the cheapest of their lineup, and loved them. Then I moved onto Bluetooth headphones when I could afford them, mdr100abn, to the wh1000xm3, then the Bose 700, skullcandy crusher anc, and then sennheiser momentum 4. All these were an upgrade from the last, however, not a noticeable upgrade that justified the money difference. Gaming headsets as well, I went from a cheap pair of turtle beach, to razor kraken, to then the Arctis 9x. Again all of these were upgrades from the last, but not MAJORLY.

Eventually I started to look into brands that weren’t just average consumer brands (I know sennheisers arent just for average consumers, It’s just I’ve only experienced their standard audio products that aren’t “professional” grade). The two that I found out about were Beyerdynamic, and Audeze.

After weeks of research I finally came to the conclusion of 2 headphones I was going to buy.

The Audeze Maxwell for gaming and the Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro X for music.

Atm the Audeze does sound better for music, however I am waiting on the Qudelix 5K to get delivered so I can EQ the Beyers. Not to mention the Beyers have that beautiful open back soundstage I was missing from my first ever Sennheisers.

I can’t say much for the Beyers as not had them as long as the Audeze and haven’t EQ’d them properly, but if anyone is looking into and contemplating the Audeze, GET THEM!!!

I’m not sure about the astros problem mate, I was just never gonna get them because they use the port on the Xbox that allows me to play 4k 120hz, so if I did have them, I couldn’t use them settings. But with the maxwell no there’s no static, interference or anything. And you can use it wired, but it has to be turned on. Which is kinda annoying but realistically with 80+ hours you’ll be charging them like 1-2 times a month
