I personally don't care for RTD and Moffat's fixation on crude/lewd humour and doing all the stupid shipteases personally. So, mileage varies greatly on that.
Well, he had a granddaughter somehow.
Could that be his daughter's daughter? In which case he wouldn't have had to have sex.

Technically one was cloned off him at some point. The actress who played her ended up marrying the Doctor though.
It was a cloning machine accident.
