I know that he values efficiency over getting his stats, which is one of the reasons he doesn't have a 60-point game, or why he doesn't shoot end of quarter shots. But that would only make sense if he was a bad shooter. He's an all-time great shooter that shoots about 5 threes a game.
His career average is 4.9 threes a game, however earlier on in his career, the pace was drastically slower, and he was young, so he used to attack the rim a LOT (he basically is a 2-level scorer right now IMO). But since his Achilles tear, he's shot many more jumpers, which is understandable, and he's actually having the best shooting percentages of his career post-injury, so one can argue that he actually got better as a shooter.
With that logic, he should be shooting more threes right? Nope, his clip is still the same, and I just don't understand why. He actually had the lowest amount of 3PA of his career in the 2023 playoffs, at 4.6 attempts/game. There were moments during LAC-PHX where he wouldn't even try a three, he would move inside for a 2. He's almost limiting his teams' offense to some degree. He's putting up 1.5-2 3PM a game, that is low IMO and I know he can bump that up to at least 3 if he focuses, and being the basketball junkie that he is, he will achieve it.
In today's game, he needs to increase the volume. It's weird to say that because we usually ask players to calm down, but he's an exception.
Dude cares too much about his percentages.
