Reaves is a shooter too. Of his own accord

[–] CulturalRoll@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Sasha is a fucking shooter

Which superstar player, if they choose to leave their current team, would make the team they end up joining a near-equivalent (or dare I say equal to) the Durant-Warriors?

Give me a player, and the team they join.

LOL I'm 28 champ stop assuming.

most people have rightfully defended Russ from the beginning.

wasn't there a post 2 days ago about this exact play and majority of the comments were frying Russ?

HELL this post is about Kawhi's reaction to Russ' miss! Are you kidding me

I am mind-blown right now. I've never seen anything like this, ever.

In Game 6 vs. Miami last playoffs, Elimination-game Jalen Brunson had 14 FGM on 22 shots for 41 points. He was straight roasting Miami all series long and was the only reason they didn't lose by 45 points.

The rest of the Miami Heat (every player on the team, not the starters) had 13 FGM.

He made more baskets than SEVEN PLAYERS COMBINED.

I am just stunned. If there was ever a "he needed some help", THIS IS WHERE YOU USE THAT EXCUSE!

Just shameful.

I'd argue that Poole's breakout season in 21-22 was a detriment to him in the long run. He hasn't come close to playing the way he did that year, aside from a game or two.

Think the chip and the money got to his head as he's trying to play outside of his limits, but he doesn't realize that he's on that level yet. He's still a bench player IMO. Teams have tape on him now so it's much harder for him to do what he would do. Plus he doesn't have the 2nd unit + Steph to take the heat off him.

That contract was a mistake, he needed to prove more before getting it.

Y'all seriously hating on Russ shooting a ball with less than 1 second left when the only reason they even got another shot was because of him crashing the boards to get a rebound?

WTF is wrong with you people

I saw this question on Youube as one of those poll questions, and it was vastly in Kyrie’s favour, however, comments were saying that there’s no issue with taking Dame. The turning point is the 2016 NBA Championship Kyrie has.

What does r/nba think?

He tweeted that he stopped a few days ago

I think these two teams are the best teams the East has had outside the LeBron teams and the 2019 Raptors.

The East was awful during the Kyrie/Bron/Love era, how would they fare against these teams? Would they struggle or beat them with relative ease?

5 years is a LONG time, and last night was just like old times. We missed out on so many matches when they were a bit younger that we might not get back at the twilight of their careers.

It really is sad. I hope they play every game against each other until they hang it up, hopefully many to come.

LBJ WILL FOREVER BE THE LAKERS BEST PLAYER

I know that he values efficiency over getting his stats, which is one of the reasons he doesn't have a 60-point game, or why he doesn't shoot end of quarter shots. But that would only make sense if he was a bad shooter. He's an all-time great shooter that shoots about 5 threes a game.

His career average is 4.9 threes a game, however earlier on in his career, the pace was drastically slower, and he was young, so he used to attack the rim a LOT (he basically is a 2-level scorer right now IMO). But since his Achilles tear, he's shot many more jumpers, which is understandable, and he's actually having the best shooting percentages of his career post-injury, so one can argue that he actually got better as a shooter.

With that logic, he should be shooting more threes right? Nope, his clip is still the same, and I just don't understand why. He actually had the lowest amount of 3PA of his career in the 2023 playoffs, at 4.6 attempts/game. There were moments during LAC-PHX where he wouldn't even try a three, he would move inside for a 2. He's almost limiting his teams' offense to some degree. He's putting up 1.5-2 3PM a game, that is low IMO and I know he can bump that up to at least 3 if he focuses, and being the basketball junkie that he is, he will achieve it.

In today's game, he needs to increase the volume. It's weird to say that because we usually ask players to calm down, but he's an exception.

He had an off night as the Warriors did a fantastic job contesting his shots, especially Wiggins getting right at his hands while he's bringing the ball up, also GP2 for swarming him. Wiggins/Kuminga/GP did a great job.

He had a mini flurry at the beginning of the 4th but I didn't even hear his name after that. Book took over the rest and closed it out.

If you never knew Durant was on the Suns, you would never realize he was on the court. Where the hell is he?

Can't convince me otherwise that Curry isn't the best scorer in the NBA

[–] CulturalRoll@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

As time passes by, the NBA feels weirder every year with the old guard getting older. It just feels different, not the same as it was in the 2010s.

Time flies man. Really does

Imagine CP with S-Dot, Iggy, Barbosa, Speights, and Clark on the bench. That bench was a starting 5 some nights

On Undisputed today, Keyshawn said that only 3 active players have an MVP -- Mahomes/Lamar/Rodgers. So that got me thinking about the NBA.

Here are the MVPs from 2009-present day:

  • LeBron: 2009

  • LeBron: 2010

  • Rose: 2011

  • LeBron: 2012

  • LeBron: 2013

  • Durant: 2014

  • Steph: 2015

  • Steph: 2016

  • Westbrook: 2017

  • Harden: 2018

  • Giannis: 2019-2020

  • Jokic: 2021-2022

  • Embiid: 2023

All of these players are currently active, which is nuts considering how far back this range is.

This is not just tonight's game, it stems back to the 20-21 season after the Lakers won the championship. We know he is inconsistent but why?

  • Are teams guarding him in specific ways?

  • Does he have weaknesses offensively that teams exploit?

  • Is he slow? This can definitely make guarding a bit easier if you're not as mobile.

We know what he's capable of so it is mind-boggling how up and down he can be. He's not a #1, but that doesn't mean you play like a #3 every other game.

Kevin Durant has been heavily criticized for his lack of success outside Golden State. If he leads the Suns to the championship, does he remove the dark cloud of “can’t win without a superteam” over his head?

This is assuming that one believes the 23/24 Phoenix Suns are not a “Superteam”.

Thanks!

In the 2010s, you always had your clear-cut contenders such as the Spurs, Warriors, Heat, OKC, etc. Most of the time, the top teams in each conference would have a staggering amount of wins. 60-65+ wins was very common back then. Hell, the top-2 teams in 15/16 in the West had 73 and 67 wins a piece. The issue was, was that the middle/bottom of the league was terrible.

Ever since the summer of 2019, there has been a lack of the DOMINANT teams that we were so accustomed to. That isn't to say that there aren't great teams, but the days of the cream of the crop seem to be over. Last year, it was honestly difficult to determine who would win the title because there were so many great teams and contenders. This also explains the lack of high-win teams as well.

Do you guys agree?
