Have to be. Only way to think vigilantism is a worthwhile pursuit.
DC saw how well Squadron Supreme worked as a superhero deconstruction and wanted their own version but they didn't have anything worthwhile of their own to say so they just filled it with edgy bullshit.
Later they'd just rip off Squadron Supreme wholesale with stuff like Injustice, but they'd still fill it with edgy bullshit, 'cause after the '80s that was all DC was capable of doing.
