Those parts are under quite the stress normally, any drops and internal damage accumulate. Mine gave out after heavy usage for 2 years, got myself high-density 3D printed ones with extra depth and haven't had a problem since.
I have the files for them still, in case it happens again. Fortunately haven't had to use them.

Mine started giving out a few years ago, and just last week it's actually become a problem.

Headphones are nearly a decade old at this point though, so very happy with how well they held up

Same. I got mine of Etsy though since I don't have a printer.
