A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Amateur. MAC user. Previously PC/Dos user of Elements and Topaz neither of which I feel work for me on the MAC. Looking for one time purchase, not subscription. Have tried the packages mentioned in the title and the functionality appears to fit what I’m looking for and, inexpensive. Have come across some issues, like mask outlines show up in final pic, which is totally unacceptable but I have asked vendor if it is me or them. Any input, suggestions appreciated.

I love Photomator. I have no idea how well it compares to serious apps like Affinity Photo, but I think it has some of the best filters in the biz, assuming you like them (they’re fairly aggressive).

Apps like Affinity Photo are great for serious photo editing, but if you want to take a shot, maybe crop it, slap it with an aggro filter and boom, you have a gorgeous shot.

Thanks. I’d be happy with the apps except with the problem I see using a mask. Outline appears in final output. I send example to support to see if is me or the product. See example, line down arm and leg.

Wack, I’ve never seen that but I also rarely mask.
