This was definitely a thing just back in the 2000s. You had guys like melo, tmac, Paul pierce, wade, Dwight ect all decline in this age range or way before. People always mentioned lebron still being so good when he was 33. At first that seemed like an anomaly. Now, you have guys like curry, kd, kawhi, dame, lebron still(lol) jimmy butler, all still being in their prime at 33+. Is it an advancement in technology and medicine? Something else?

Along with medical advancements like other people said, I think playstyle also plays a factor. Curry, kd, kawhi, Dame, butler, and even lebron all have play styles that don’t put that much pressure on their bodies. Yeah they can and do still pull off dunks pretty frequently, but comparing this lebron to Miami lebron, he doesn’t play that same way now. Blake and drose are good examples, they changed their styles and tendencies to ease the load on the lower body, and even though they did decline, they’re still playing, and drose is actually really productive for his team
