They beep so fucking loud here, this would not fly well with a cashier (or can) that watches well π
But we came up with different ways to do it over time. And yes, self checkout mostly, but we also do it at register if we have to. The most brazen one was a whole fucking door we drove by the cashier while my wife distracted him with questions and her charme π
We should not be proud of that, but we are. We probably wouldn't even have noticed the price hikes. But I absolutely despise that they force you to pay more for things you can't boycott. I can just not buy a car, but I can't not buy food to protest. Fucking greed.

...while we paid for the hinges π Sometime it's really simple: if you just do it as if you're allowed to do it, noone questions it. Like going right into spaces you're not supposed to go, if you're wearing something orange, a screwdriver or whatever else and just fucking go there as if you own the place.
The places I've been to without ever been questioned, including ceos offices or treasuries or....just because suit and laptop in hand. I was actually allowed but I was never ever questioned or stopped. Might be my nasty resting bitch face, I dunno π

might work, but that's a bit of overkill. I prefer sleigh-of-hand or simply not scanning many things. People are already overworked and understaffed, noone's gonna check anyway. The cameras are just scare-tactics too.
