Hi photography friends,

I'm looking to upgrade my backup solution for my tens of thousands of photos. Currently I have a 2(?)TB external HDD that is almost full. When I upgrade, should I move to an SSD instead? Any preferred brands?

Also, and I know this is a really stupid question, but when it comes to copying my photos from one location to another, does the image retain original quality? In other words, does copying your images degrade their quality? And if so, is there a way around that?

I am using IDrive Photos app to backup all photos/videos.Its doing great for me. when the storage is full i do backup on cloud storage and the backup will go as orginal quality.
