Can someone explain the medias hit jobs on Will Levis, why did the media torment him during the draft process, etc? (alien.top)

He looked phenomenal in his first start and I was really high on him during the draft. Seemed to have all the tools, but for some reason, he was just annihilated by the media, mostly for stupid stuff like mayonnaise or something. There seemed to be an almost vicious hatred for the guy largely on Twitter. Can someone explain? I swear on draft night, they cut to his face every time somebody was picked over him, like they just wanted to humiliate him.
