A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Hi all,

I would consider myself a hobby-essional, meaning photography is still a pleasurable hobby but I do shoot 3-5 weddings a year, with a few senior photos/couples here and there. I’d like a solid place to showcase my work and I found Adobe portfolio. After the last few days I’ve been tinkering with it building a page and while it does seem stable and nice, it feels like details of fonts, manually moving things around, creativeness is rather limited. I get that it’s free so I was curious if any others utilize this and if so, I’d love to see some links so I can get some ideas.

I’ve looked at square space and have considered that option, but wanted to try the portfolio first.

It works, but it is a bit of work.

a) in Lightroom you can't have smart collections which sync with Lightroom (online)

b) Portfolio does not update automatically from the collections which are sync'ed

It is especially b) I have a problem with, which also means that I do not do as much with Portfolio as I feel I should. But I'm using it as it's free (comes with the subscription) and it does just enough for me not to look else where.
