Not a pro, but Major Harris from WVU was absolutely amazing in college, got an NFL offer, then signed to play third string in Canadian Football.
In fairness to Harris, he was a rookie behind two CFL legends. The starting qb for the BC Lions that year was Doug Flutie in his prime. Second string was Joe “the Throwin’ Samoan” Paopao, in the twilight of an 11 year playing career. He later coached for 30 years, mostly in the CFL but also Canadian college football, and San Fran in the original XFL.
