They’re both pretty busted as a duo with Steph. I prefer Steph with Giannis since I think they happen to get along better from what I see in the All Star games and I don’t look at Giannis like he’s an absolute dummy on offense whose best offensive skill is in transition.
Giannis and Steph both play faster on offense than Jokic in transition in which both players can play the passer and the guy running for the pass (I know Jokic is an amazingly quick transition passer). Also a better defensive pair.
Prior to this season Giannis’ best offensive help is Chris Middleton for his shooting and capability to create his own shot in the half court and Jrue Holiday for pg duties. I think people can agree that Steph is better than those 2 at those offensive skills. Even if Steph plays a combo on/off ball role for a pg his better scoring prowess allows for more passing to others to score and he’s a good and willing passer.
Also even if a team has a center who isn’t a good shooter with Giannis and Steph, Steph is able to make Dray and Looney work on offense he can work with bad spacing from your 4s and 5s. Hell he helps GP2 work with Dray on offense. It’s easier to cover for Steph’s defensive weaknesses than Jokic’s since you can put a more defensive slanted line up on the floor easier behind an offensive superstar guard.
