It's almost as if the Zebras just wanna ruin the fun. Imagine if this was the first time a kid was able to see Giannis in person? All that time, money, and effort to see your favorite player just for them to get the boot.

To eject Giannis over that, but a few days ago Draymond Green is allowed to run and yell at refs for 45 seconds and gets no tech for it is just a gross display of abusive power.

Didnt someone get ejected for passing the ball back to the ref in a totally normal way last year?

Not sure if this is the one you’re talking about but your comment reminded me of Kyle Lowry

[–] Neemzeh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What the fuck LOL. How is this actually allowed?

[–] HoorayPizzaDay@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah I feel like this has happened a few times, these refs are such losers. The Giannis one sucks but its not the worst.

[–] Lacroixprogram1@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Who’s the ref?

[–] WeapyWillow@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This ref should have been shamed by the league, absolutely disgraceful.

pfft unbelievable

I love how the ref wasn't paying any attention to Lowry, as evidenced by the fact they never saw the ball, yet they felt confident tossing Lowry.

Its insane how much power the refs have

This was 2nd technical correct? Not a straight ejection? I think a tech is defendable in this scenario, but I'm obviously the minority in this thread. Lowry was obviously pretty frustrated when he threw that ball and didn't look to see if the ref was looking when he threw it. If the ref had his back turned everyone would agree that this is a tech. That is probably what the ref felt it was equivalent to.

Should an NBA level ref have better player management than this, yes. But without having the context it is harder to just put the ref on blast. If Lowry was arguing calls all game and close to a 2nd tech already this may have been what pushed it over the edge.

I think it should be mentioned that Lowry tossed the ball underhand at the ref. The ref obviously didn't know that, since they didn't see it, but not seeing an act that you call a technical for isn't really a defense.

And yes, Lowry is extremely annoying. I'm sure he was whining all game. But the remedy for that is for the ref to warn him and then T him the next time he says something, not to T him for something they didn't see.

Yes – not sure why nobody has posted this yet – it was Booker in the bubble

Or that technical against Tatum for blocking a shot (at the rim, not up against the player) after the whistle in the Finals. I hate Boston but that shit was dumb.

I love how like 5 examples have been posted in response to this of it happening to different players. Refs can be so soft. 😆

[–] HesiPullup@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah as a Suns fan, I thought they were talking about Booker lol

[–] Ragnar_OK@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Harden got a tech a couple of years ago for placing the ball at the ref’s feet

[–] Dingo-Dangerous@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Cade got ejected for pointing at his own bench last year. Just no one gives a shit unless it’s a star player or team.

[–] ASS_EATIN_SZN_69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Chris Paul got a technical in this manner, but not ejected.

[–] Rob3125@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Definitely wasn't last year but JJ Reddick was booted for something like that a few years back

[–] azsnaz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is baseball, but you may enjoy this ejection because a catcher didn't know the ump was giving him a ball https://youtu.be/Ab8_xERdUa4?si=3b0hsExYKHdC4jin

[–] Dr0me@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

i think that was jordan poole
