Genuine question - Will the lack of defense hidder Kyrie's and Luka's all time legacy standings?

Both amazing players in their own rights but i have always thought that this part of their game lets them down. Most all time greats have above average defense and i can't really think of anyone who's considered a great but had lazy defense. Pistol Pete? Steve Nash? Curry maybe?

From what I saw during that game Luka can play good D when he wants to. I think his offensive load is still so large that he just doesn't have the energy to play hard defense for a full game. You can see his conditioning has definitely improved from last year. I think over the course of this season, with Kyrie helping on offense and Lively anchoring the defense, that Luka's defensive stats will be much improved over last season
