Federal immigration officers are asserting sweeping power to forcibly enter people’s homes without a judge’s warrant, according to an internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement memo obtained by The Associated Press, marking a sharp reversal of longstanding guidance meant to respect constitutional limits on government searches.

The memo authorizes ICE officers to use force to enter a residence based solely on a more narrow administrative warrant to arrest someone with a final order of removal, a move that advocates say collides with Fourth Amendment protections and upends years of advice given to immigrant communities.

Sounds like a fine way to end up eating a buckshot sandwich, but I'm not one to interrupt my enemy while they're making a mistake.

They know who has guns. They're going after people who don't.

Love to be proven wrong, though.

Contrary to what many people may believe, while I'm sure the government has an idea of who has guns and who doesn't, I doubt that idea accurately reflects reality. There are lots of ways in the US to get or make a gun that don't involve anything beyond cash changing hands.

It's only a matter of time.

Just a reminder that "the government" now includes Palantir's dystopian surveillance suite. You can be sure that every target has a confidence rating assigned to it as to what kind of resistance can be expected. The small percentage of people that maintain a low enough profile to be able to be armed without having any sort of red flag attached are likely to be assigned a low confidence rating. Yes, there will always be a chance that there's a mismatch. But the goons on the ground are being sent after the lowest hanging fruit. They may be mouth breathing meatsacks, but the ones calling the shots are not.

I jate to break it to you, but do you think palantir has accurate data? It's ai. It hallucinates by design

They have your data in data warehouses. They can definitely know if you 100% have a gun based off of your posts with a picture of a gun and some registration data from a breach that leaked, but what if its like 80% confidence? Their confidence is based off massive human-involved assumptions.

They have the data and theyre trying to sell access to it. Their profit margins arent affected if they are wrong 70% of the time, they make bank when it works that 30% and thats what governments and corps spend millions on. They have no idea how accurate it really is, they are really just guessing off of probabilities. And your inconvenience for being probed and labelled incorrectly? Well that is a price the rich are willing to pay

Yes I do believe they have accurate data because they have been buying it from every broker that exists.

Buckshot in one barrel, slugs in the other. Some of these stupid assholes might be wearing plates that didn't come from Temu.
