Now that Canon has announced theirs and there has been plenty of reviews of it, I'm wondering when we can see competing products from the likes of Sony and Nikon or third parties like Tamron or Sigma? I'm new to photography and haven't yet grasped the cadence of releases like this. Do competing products come around pretty quickly or are all of them just blindsided by this and maybe more than a year off from having a viable product?

I'm very surprised Nikon don't have lenses like it or the 28-70 f2. I remember when they launched the new mirror less cameras there was a big hoohaa about the mount being wider.

I remember them saying it would allow new designs for lenses because of that and how close to the sensor the back of the lens could be. We saw the nocht f0.95 or w/e it was but that seems to have been their only go at doing something unique.

As for Sony? Probably will see something in a few years to be fair. They're quite good for just throwing everything at their cameras and lenses.
