It's entirely possible that his mane is covering a plethora of gold chains.
Actually, after 9/11 Mr T stopped wearing gold chains. He said he found it disrespectful to keep flaunting wealth when so many people had just lost so much.
He stopped wearing them after Katrina
This is true but also an obstacle to the joke I wanted to make. If I had been more forward thinking, I should have included that very important footnote. It says a lot about his character.
