A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

I have been working with a Noct the last few days and I am noticing a purple flare in a lot of my images with back lighting. Has anyone had this happen before?

It's definitely the lens, but I am not sure if this is an issue the manufacturer should correct or if it's normal for this lens? Kind of disappointing given the reputation for quality.

I mean even the best lenses will have flares if you point them into a light source. It’s absolutely possible the noct has an issue but I’d say it’s incredibly more likely that it’s just an unfortunate flare. I mean looking at them it’d be super easy to take out editing wise. Can we see the full image? Cropped doesn’t really show the lighting
