MODERATORS

I have heard people talk about tagging people instead of blocking them and I did not think much about it. I had a person with a one month history though who had some comments that had me evaluating them for a block. Their history is just to small atm. So I thought. Hey this would be great for some sort of tag like under review or probation or something so I can remember to evaluate down the line. I looked around but did not see anything. I think its very possible people are talking about something that is specific to an app or maybe lemmy has it. On the other hand maybe I am just missing how to do it. So this is a question or an ask depending.

Go to their user profile page and click the More dropdown. You can then select Edit note. This lets you put a bit of text next to their username wherever you see it.

As an example, I made a note for rimu's account and I can see it in the sidebar because he is the moderator:

rimu note

Edit: This is in the API as well, but I don't know what apps do or don't support this yet.

thanks. curiously the person gave me a response that made it a slam dunk but I took the opportunity to try it out. I think I may start using it to tag folks with like a respect tag to keep from forgetting how to do it and now that I think about it it would kinda be a way to get close to something I would like feed wise anyway.

Mlem supports user notes. (TestFlight for sure, unsure about the App Store release.)
