With Hetzner's price rises taking effect, I'm moving piefed.social to somewhere else. Most likely it'll be during a quiet time when few people will notice, around 00:00 to 3:00 UTC on Saturday.

EDIT: server migration is complete! Bringing it online in it's new home was a bit rocky so possibly half the posts made while piefed.social was down were lost.

Thanks for the heads up. There were some scattered services that went down last night because of a DDOS attack, and it’s nice to know that when this goes down, it’s just for maintenance!

Oh shit, we’re already into the window! Lol

77 degrees, that's good for brewing green tea, far too hot for living human beings.

On a couple months it will be 100+ F your welcome to visit ;)

That's relatively cool for Florida, they use Fahrenheit in the US.

77F = 25C

Why, haven't they been told about Celsius yet?

Next you tell me they don't know what kilometers are, lol.

We have been told, and the scientific community uses it. But there are still a lot here that think it is communist bullshit.

I worked on scientific campuses for 25 years, I used C for everything at that time, but since leaving I have slowly slid back to F.

"think it is communist bullshit"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrenheit#/media/File:Countries_that_use_Fahrenheit.svg

Considering this map of places that use it, everywhere except the US and a couple tiny islands would be "communist". lol

Didn't know communists were close to taking over all of the world in 2026. :p

We use it in computers, for some reason.

I like it cooler for my tea and otherwise, even though I may be stuck in Orlando for the moment, I’m a lifelong New Yorker! 😁
