Flippanarchy
Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.
Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.
This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

Yes, the USSR and China are famous for not destroying natural habitats or consuming nature to benefit themselves.
Its not capitalism people, it's us
Or it's them
I don't know
But does it help to get mad and doom spiral about it?
I'm not saying anyone's wrong for getting mad about it, Ive just been watching people cry foul on the internet for over 15 years now and I don't know if it's made any of us need less wood and delicious rare earth minerals...
Sir, this is an anarchist sub.
Yes actually, the USSR and China are famous for their ecological track records. Not perfect by any means, but they were/are far better than their capitalist counterparts.
Better than the US is not a high bar to clear.
The PRC has gotten better in the last 15 years, but was also pretty poor before that, and still enacts environmentally catastrophic colonial extractavist projects in South East Asia, similar to Europe and North America in Africa and South America. (Though none as catastrophic as my homeland has been in West Africa.)
I hope that the PRC can keep to it's trajectory, while reducing the harm done in South East Asia, and then in a few years can be better environmentally than all 1st World Nations.
The US is far better than both China and the USSR when it comes to environmental protections. It's not even close.
You're being voted for being absolutely correct
i do know that crying about it online serves no real purpose, you want to change this you either capture the government for yourself or remove the oligarchs. both are very obtainable goals
Remove the oligarchs and replace them or remove the oligarchs as in abolishing the goverment itself?
remove as in "their addresses are easy to find"
But then we just get new ones. I think the third option, abolishing the government, would be the best
Thanks, I needed one with better resolution.
Sure, though it is an svg on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchist_symbolism#/media/File:Anarchy-symbol.svg
I wouldn't say ecological destruction is an inherent feature of being human. But yes its not just capitalism, there are many more motivations and ideologies that contribute to seeing the earth just as as a big bag of ressources. We should oppose all of those.
