Just seeing Joe Burrow’s out for the year now and it’s been brutal. How many backup QBs have started games? Is it a NFL modern record?

Aaron Rodgers out for year Kirk Cousins out for year Daniel Jones out for year Deshaun Watson out for year Joe Burrow out for year

Not to mention Justin Fields, Matt Stafford, Kyler Murray, etc. who have been banged up

Brock Purdy effect. Teams would rather start their shitty rookie than find a competent QB in the open market. This is what happens when being terrible is more valuable than being mediocre.

You mean “cost efficient at the most expensive spot on the team”, looks like. I’m not even a SF fan, but Kyle Shanahan, is one of the 3-4 most important people in the league.

It’s Bill Walsh all over again. Does anyone remember the 49er’s before Walsh?

He was a visionary, and made a mid tier qb in Montana, and an absolute beast who went to a small school, Rice into the best offensive duo in NFL history.

I think fans always focus on the players, but the longer I watch this game, it really is the coaching that matters. Why did Brady drop to the sixth round. Nothing remarkable about him at all, but he found a great system and played for possibly the best coach in NFL history.

Injuries are a part of the game. Next year, there will probably be less at the QB position. Plus, more youth comes into the league and old guys age out every year.

You are seeing forward thinking coaches like A Smith for Atlanta that has an advanced running scheme. Ofc, he’s got other issues, but his schemes seem to be good.

It’s cyclical. If you want better results, hire innovative coaches.
