Looks like there need to be more Jiu Jitsu classes this season...but no really im grateful that so far the Dolphins have been able to protect Tua and he's been able to protect himself this year and hope it continues especially after all the head jokes and criticism this reddit and others on social media and tv threw at us. I understand what it feels like for your teams QB to be taken out and how hopeless the rest of the season feels and empathize.
NFL
A place for NFL news, game highlights and everything that excites you about American Football.
49s are still using their backup qb from last year too
What is the postseason if not excessively early pre-season?
Probably not. We've had some pretty crazy years in the past for injuries.
Thursday night games. More regular season games. Shortened pre-season. All things the NFL did to add $$ but they have increased the injury risk to players including the QB.
Thursday night games should not be a thing. Never should have.
Exactly- the only thing I need to know about TNF is that if there were numbers showing injury increase they would be ALL OVER every time a major players gets hurt on TNF. But instead it’s just radio silence with the actual numbers.
Just rolling out “increased injury risk” and listing things doesn’t mean it’s true.
The 17th game certainly adds injury risk by volume but the real two things at play have always been at play 1) NFL football games are just insanely hard on bodies 2) recency bias, we forget the last injuries once their present impact is over.
First time watching the NFL?
I can't believe none of them were Tua tbh
Feels like there’s more injuries and more serious ones as a whole lately.
It is making the season really unwatchable. So much bad play.
Its a horrible year for injuries in general. Chubb, Jefferson, Judon, Barkley, Andrews, Jarrett, Milano, Ramsey, Tredavious White, CJGJ, (Trevon) Diggs, Waller, Mike Williams have all had serious or season ending injuries.
You forgot Anthony Richardson
Im not sure
I think, in general, this is kind of a crap year. Don't get me wrong I'm having fun because my team is doing fine, but in general there have just been so many injuries to all positions, down offensive scoring, and a lot more INTs it seems across the board.
Seems like theres more injuries with all these protect the qb rules.
Anthony Richardson. People keep forgetting AR5. If he figures out how to avoid injury next season, watch out.
You honestly didn't need to list Daniel Jones.
This has been a really bad year when I really try to think about it. The worst that comes to recent memory.
Yes it sucks. I love watching talented QB’s
Man it’s crazy, pass attempts are at an all-time high and QBs keep getting hurt, how on earth is this happening?
According to bard:
“The NFL season with the most total minutes missed due to injury by quarterbacks that were designated as the team's Week 1 starter is the 2020 season. In that season, a total of 4,196 minutes were missed by starting quarterbacks due to injury.”
Ever? No, of course not. It used to be a rarity for a QB to play a season without missing 4+ games, now it's the expectation.
With Watson out, some might consider it the best year for QB injuries ever.
Proves that all these pansy roughing the passer calls to protect QBs isn't doing shit but ruining the game.
And Anthony Richardson
I think Dan Patrick looked it up a week ago on his show. I think (If I remember correctly) that 65 QBs have taken at least one snap, and 60 QBs had at least 1 pass attempt.
Don’t forget Jimmy G and Anthony Richardson
BORTLES!!!!
I mean look at Mac jones, horrible injury! His head is clearly not fucking working right!
/s
It’s the cost for Tua being healthy all year
Daniel Jones' agent working overtime to make sure his name gets included with all the good quarterbacks
Fortunately Herbert’s injury was just a flesh wound
You forgot lamar
My husband and I were just talking about this. It’s quite a shame!
No, last year was. 66 backups. We’re around 45 rn
Lol Daniel Jones out for the year oh noooooooo our elite quarterbacks lmfao
All the safety rules for QB protection and they’re getting hurt more than ever.
Hey, don't forget Bryce Young, he missed a game with an ankle injury ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
So…. who’s next?
I was thinking about how these QB protection rules have made QBs feel more secure than they are putting them in dangerous positions.
You forgot Anthony Richardson
I’m requesting we wrap Tua in bubble wrap and set him in a quiet corner until week 16 or so.
