A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

I come from a long line of first-born women and there are currently five living generations (my infant daughter, myself, my mom, my grandma, and my great grandma). The older three generations are similar in height, around 5 feet, meanwhile I’m 5’7. My mom wants to have professional photos taken of the five of us but pictures have always been a bit awkward because my height makes me stand out and look huge compared to the others. I would love to not hate these photos. What are some ways that these photos can be posed to make the height difference a little less extreme? I’m sure our photographer will have some ideas but I would appreciate some suggestions beforehand.

What about a slope effect, where you have the heights going from shortest to tallest. Like one person kneeling one crouching one crouching less and so on. You could crouching if you didn't want to be the tallest. I think it would give an interesting fun look to your pics. *
