I feel like every time I see Klay Thompson dribble into a midrange, it's a difficult fadeaway or pull-up or something and he rarely makes it. Even if he does make it, it's 2 points rather than 3. I wanted to confirm how he shoots on midranges and the stats match the eye test. He is not good from midrange, even last year which is considered a pretty good year for him

The last 3 years from 10+ ft

- 2021-22: 40.3%

- 2022-23: 40.6$

- 2023-24: 38.2%

Klay basically shoots the same 40% from 3, which is far more valuable (60TS vs 40TS)

Why does Klay shoot these midranges at such a bad rate when he could only take 3s and be a relatively efficient scorer?

Klay is a catch-and-shoot player, as in every time he catches the ball he shoots it, wherever he is
