Fashion isn't always about what looks the best on a person.

This is my favorite fashion story.

King Edward VII was at a country estate and decided to play tennis.

His valet pulled out his tennis outfit, but was shocked to find that there was a sharp crease in the pants from being folded so long. The King told the servant not to bother ironing the creases out.

The King went down in creased pants, and it's been a sign of a well dressed fellow to have a sharp crease in his pants ever since.

supposedly the same Edward VII is the reason why the bottom button on a suit jacket is supposed to be left undone. he got too fat to fasten it, and the other men imitated that style

It seems to me that the age of the fashion icon has passed us by.

I can't remember the last time I saw a lot of people imitating any star's looks.

When was the last time there was a Rachel haircut?

Where did broccoli hair come from?

Have you seen how the current king dresses? No thank you.

Back in the day, John Kennedy killed the fedora when he went hatless to his Inauguration. James Bond had a hat in the gun barrel sequence of Dr. No and had lost it by the time they did Goldfinger.

Miami Vice's look was widely copied.

Like I said, I haven't seen any true fashion icons in years.

Sabrina Carpenter curtain bangs

Funny thing. I looked her up and then realized she looked a lot like Sydney Sweeny.

edit = I didn't do a deep dive, but from what I saw the two could swap outfits and 'dos without anyone noticing.

Not exactly iconic.
