That's not what I did. Read it again.
I asked several why questions. None were "why could someone be upset by this".
Okay yeah my bad.
I thought most of your questions were rhetorical because they were so obvious TBH.
Proton sponsored a far right self-described Nazi YouTuber. This is the fact and is basically the entirety of my original comment. Your questions are just foundationally wrong.
Your bit about "You could sign up for an affiliate link your self today..." is wrong as well and contradicted by Proton's own words about using their brand.
Not made up and appeal to authority. Majority owned, BTW. "Scientists and engineers" are not paragons of ethics, either.
No. I don't watch YouTube, don't want to give them a view, etc., etc. If you actually believe he was promoting bigotry then you should be upset that Proton sponsored him. The only excuse for not being upset is if you don't believe Proton sponsored him, which is objectively wrong; they did. False equivalency. Both can be bad. One can be worse. Does not mean the bad doesn't deserve to be addressed.
No question mark but framed as one. See above. I believe Proton is one of the bad actors here. The CEO's wishy-washy AI responses to community backlash show no remorse. I spend no small amount of money on a service that can be found comparable for free elsewhere because I believe in their stated ethics, to see them act so counter to them and use my money to do so is upsetting to me.
Thank you
