Have you looked at what a Piaget costs recently? You pay around as much for a Polo on rubber as you do for a grey market Rolex Datejust. On steel they cost as much as a Girard Perregaux. I think the Polo is an awesome watch and I see myself owning one some day, but if I was talking about fiscal responsibility I would not put it in a category above Rolex, in fact if anything the ability to flip the Rolex for little to no loss if something goes south financially makes it the more fiscally responsible choice (insofar as spending 12k on a watch could ever be called fiscally responsible at all).
