It's never been a better time to cash out those 401ks full of tech stocks.

Well, maybe six months ago. Or pretty much any time before March.

Don't bother with that user. They were arguing a few days ago that the economy is fine, that the current stock values weren't intentionally pumped and that Trump didn't straight fuck the market back in 2025 by applying tarrifs to our trade partners.

Edit: ah there it is, another string of down votes on my comments lol, keep it up fuckass I dare you

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

Ah, so that's why I have them tagged as "fascist simp."

QQQ and VOO are both up handsomely year-to-date.

DOW is back over 51k. That means everything is good and nobody is allowed to complain.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (3 children)

FYI, DOW doesn't stand for anything. "Dow" is commonly used to refer to the "Dow Jones Industrial Average."

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They weren't implying it was an acronym. They were just shouting DOW at you.

[–] CapuccinoCoretto@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

NNNNNAAAAASSSSDDDDAAAAAAQ!!!!

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I'm fighting every urge to try turning that into an acronym.

[–] CapuccinoCoretto@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

Don't fight it. If it feels good, do it.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And yet, you knew what they meant.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sure, this time I managed to figure it out. Next time they screw up an acronym, somebody else might not.

[–] Texas_Hangover@lemmy.radio 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Holy fuck, you'd have fun in the military.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Nobody would be having any fun.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Dow stands for Charlies Dow, the co-founder of Dow Jones & Company.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

No, his name is Dow. DOW doesn't stand for anything.

We usually acronymize that as DoW, not DOW, though some people use all caps.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

DOW is just his name in capital letters

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

THIS IS JUST A COMMENT IN CAPITAL LETTERS
