Right-wing media is happy to take sides, while the “liberal” media just wants that sweet Sweet ad money so it’s looking for ratings without being “controversial”.

There's no mainstream liberal media. There's establishment/billionaire media that panders to the cultural issues of the left in order to contain it in anything that involves taxing the billionaires or anything consequential.

Looks like you're operating under the common misconception that liberals are left wing rather than center right to right wing and corporatist.

Same as it ever was.

Been alive for 40 years. Protest in so many things since the 90s.

News controls the narrative. It's why social media has been a game changer (for a while anyways. Now we got bots messing with the narrative.)

I like how this exact article is doing the same thing by calling them pro Palestinian protests and not anti genocide investment protests.

You know because the demand of the protestors is divestment from Israel.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

I think the demand is also an end to genocide. In fact, I would guess that most of those protesters would say that those universities could keep their investments if there were a way for them to stop Israel from killing people.

The word "campus" in the title is entirely superfluous.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 4 points 6 months ago

I was thinking that as well. They always focus on the spectacle.

Well, we wouldn't want to help spread their message, would we? /s
