Always has been.

They earned more of my respect for the price controls legislation

Is there a list of those implicated?

[–] ASaltPepper@lemmy.one 18 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (3 children)

There is but it won't be released till after the election according to Freeland.

Source

Edit: thanks to ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca for pointing out editorialization concerns I've added a relevant quote below from the article.

Senior cabinet ministers wouldn't say Tuesday if the government is prepared to release the names of parliamentarians who are alleged to have conspired with foreign governments and to have consciously shared sensitive information with their agents — conduct that one expert says could amount to treason. There may still be police investigations into these allegations, the ministers said, and details could eventually be released as part of that process. But that raises the question of whether the voting public will know who's alleged to have engaged in such conduct before the next federal election, which is expected sometime in 2025.

That's a bunch of horseshit. I'm no fascist, but if liberal members were involved, they should be exposed. Same goes for Conservatives or NDP. They are covering their asses due to elections and yet we risk re-electing them.

I'm writing my MP.

Edit: I actually did exactly that (wrote my MP) last night. While my MP is a conservative fuckweasel, I kept my political leaning out of it.

I urge you all to do the same, and send an email.

if liberal members were involved

I wouldn't surprised if members from all political parties were involved with a heavy focus on Conservatives and Liberals since both parties alternate who is in power.

Same stance here.

Idgaf what party you are with. You need to politically hang by your heels in Milan for this.

You need to politically hang by your heels in Milan for this.

Well that's a new one for me but entirely visceral. :)

It's what you do with fascists; just ask Mussolini.

Not that there is necessarily a connection between the two (traitors/Mussolini), but I like to descriptive.

I'm also not condoning actual violence, but scathing accountability. Pretty light in my opinion, considering the horrific things that were done to spy and the like a mere century or two ago.

Well see they get reelected then the list gets released and they get their full pension. It's perfect.

till after the election according to Freeland.

This is editorialized

You could have said that she won’t comment on an ongoing investigation and been more correct because this “Freeland said she trusts police to do their work.” is the relevant part of the article

[–] ASaltPepper@lemmy.one 4 points 5 months ago

You raise a good point. I'll change the original to include the relevant excerpts so readers can decide on the meaning. Thanks 👍

Source? That would be exceptionally bone-headed messaging to say out loud, and while the Liberals are masters at cramming their feet in their mouths (Freeland in particular) that level of pooping-out-toes is beyond even her.

[–] northmaple1984@lemmy.ca 0 points 5 months ago

No, the list being released has been a huge point of contention.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 7 points 5 months ago (2 children)

I bet you both the Tories and the Liberals are up to their necks in this shit.

It would be nice if this caused both parties to lose terribly and left us with an NDP-Green-Bloc dominated parliament for a few years

[–] rab@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Likely. Though all cons voted yes in this notion interestingly enough

[–] Hobbes_Dent@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

I’m thinking all parties have some names but an election-causing uproar can only be a net-positive for the cons.

Just wait for the juvenile name calling this election.

[–] northmaple1984@lemmy.ca 0 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I'd be surprised if the NDP and Greens weren't involved either to be honest.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 3 points 5 months ago

I'm sure they only escaped the majority of interference because they were seen as not worth the effort
