CrowdStrike, the cybersecurity firm that crashed millions of computers with a botched update all over the world last week, is offering its partners a $10 Uber Eats gift card as an apology, according to several peoplewho say they received the gift card, as well as a source who also received one.

On Tuesday, a source told TechCrunch that they received an email from CrowdStrike offering them the gift card because the company recognizes “the additional work that the July 19 incident has caused.”

“And for that, we send our heartfelt thanks and apologies for the inconvenience,” the email read, according to a screenshot shared by the source. The same email was also posted on X by someone else. “To express our gratitude, your next cup of coffee or late night snack is on us!”

I mean yikes. When I had to reschedule a meeting with a vendor because of an outage (that wasn't related to them) they sent me a $100 gift card so I could buy myself dinner. It was very sweet of them at a time where I was pretty stressed out by the fire I was putting out.

$10 on Uber Eats? After fees and delivery, maybe a single taquito from 7/11.

…Maybe…

The best part is that some people said the vouchers had been canceled.

On Wednesday, some of the people who posted about the gift card said that when they went to redeem the offer, they got an error message saying the voucher had been canceled. When TechCrunch checked the voucher, the Uber Eats page provided an error message that said the gift card “has been canceled by the issuing party and is no longer valid.”

Our VAR responded to the CS rep basically saying:

And just how so might I ask we use this effectively when we had a team of 6 people working on this? Cut a bigmac 6 ways, 2 oz of soda and 12 fries per person?

Dear IT departments & corporate billing, please send an invoice of business lost & IT overtime costs to Crowdstrike. $10? STFU

Same amount they'd get as a check once the class action suit gets settled.
