You dropped this: πŸ…

This is one of the hardest TNG episodes to watch. Picard was brilliant here. Fuck Gul Madred.

He's such a good captain. Human, but very principled. They really pushed his character in some of these episodes.

”What I didn't put in the report was that at the end, he gave me a choice - between a life of comfort... or more torture. All I had to do was to say that... I could see five guys, when in fact there were only four."

I give up; the memes are too good. Where should I start watching Star Trek?

Oh boy, you're in for some fun!

If you have a soft spot for 1960s style campiness, go ahead and start with the original series. (That's where I did)

Otherwise, start with Star Trek: The Next Generation and just run with it.

There are probably guides, but just pick a random TNG episode, probably not from season 1 or 2.

Star Trek TNG after Riker grows a beard, so season 2.

My gf loved the beardless seasons as well, so I'd start from the beginning, only skip forward if you're not liking it.

There's a good episode in season one... I don't remember which one but there is one

This has more levels than a galaxy-class

More levels than a Constitution-class during that one scene in Star Trek V where they use the rocket boots in the turbolift shaft.

Your TNG game is strong! Much respect, internet stranger.

🎢IV BIG GUYS🎢

DigBar plays in the distance..

oh man that's good meme-ing

[–] Reziarfg@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

In the spirit of the episode, shouldn't Picard be shouting that there are "FIVE GUYS!" since that's the "truth" and not what the sign is trying to gaslight him into believing?

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hmm, maybe we're seeing what Picard sees!

[–] Reziarfg@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Oooh actually you're right...The irony is there ARE Five guys πŸ€”
