in a interview with Vladimir Solovyov

Holy fuck. And I thought Jones couldn't step any lower.

Chasing that... fat rouble payout??

[–] Beetschnapps@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Definitely chasing fat.

You may have missed his rather gushing 2017 interview with Aleksandr Dugin, author of Putin’s playbook The Foundation of Geopolitics.

Alex has been a simp for Putin for several years.

I'd say Vladimir Solovyov is not far off from the same level as Goebbels.

This channel regularly translates clips from his show, I can recommend to check it out:

Why is this guy allowed to go on anything? He should be destitute and paying every penny to his lost court cases

[–] SkybreakerEngineer@lemmy.world 49 points 1 year ago

His lawyers literally told the bankruptcy judge that he can't possibly survive on anything less than $520k per year. And that's after conveniently leaving out all the money he tried to hide in shell companies named after himself. He's taken like 3-4 family vacations since the verdict. Think Disneyland and Waikiki. The judge even allowed InfoWars to keep running, so long as they pinky swear to send all their profits to the plaintiffs. And that still held up even after 2 aborted attempts at restarting the show under different umbrellas.

Wow Putin must be really feeling the pressure if he's walking all his sleeper agents

You could hardly call these far right anti-ukrainers in the GOP sleeper agents, they’ve been out and out Russian/Fascism cheerleaders for years.

Complaining about the US “wasting” money in Ukraine, as if we don’t have a huge vested interest in the outcome. If you told the GOP of the 60s-90’s what the GOP of today’s stance is on Russia, they literally would not believe you.

Every single dollar spent dismantling Russia is just about the best value you can get for a dollar. We should be committing 10x again what we are.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 year ago

In fairness, you can also tell a modern Republican what the GOP's stance is on just about anything and they will not believe you.

[–] Manifish_Destiny@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

We spent many times more on an absolutely pointless war for the past 23ish years. Why is giving a bone to Ukraine to deplete the entire russian arsenal such a huge fucking ask?

[–] geekworking@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We tried the wait and see approach with European countries invading their neighbors twice in the last century and both times it ended up being 1000x more costly and got lots of our people killed.

I don't want to be financing Ukraine anymore than the GOP does, but it's still better than dealing with a much bigger problem later.

[–] Rinox@feddit.it 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The US is still playing the same game of wait and see. During WW2 it's not like the US didn't supply the allies with weapons (lend lease act) for years before sending in troops.

Hopefully Ukraine will be able to neuter Russia before the US or the EU have to get involved with actual boots on the ground.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So 9/11 wasn't an inside job anymore?

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 year ago

It was an inside job from the outside! Nobody could have seen that coming! It’s brilliant, genius I say!

[–] TheJims@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

Alex Jones is back acne personified. The entire Republican Party is nothing more than a tool for Putin.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He accused "oligarchs" like "Klaus Schwab and Bill Gates" of being in control of the country. In a series of outlandish comments, he claimed they are "arresting everybody" and that "our country is captured.

"They are so used to wielding American power, of the country they've hijacked, like hijackers who take over an airplane," Jones said. "They're flying the American airplane into the building—like 9/11—that is Russia. And so I'm trying to stop that."

[–] keeb420@kbin.social 12 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Imagine saying that 20 years ago, that you're trying to stop America from harming Russia. The Republicans would have your ass. Now they kiss the ring of that gaping void of humanity.

[–] Astrealix@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

While russia is actively waging war in Europe

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

70 years ago, they’d have hauled his ass in before the House Comitte on Un-American Activities.

I suspect that would be far more intersting to watch.

[–] ArugulaZ@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago

I'd compare Alex Jones to an oversized, inflamed hemorrhoid. Always bloated, red, and a huge pain in the ass.

[–] Lifecoach5000@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Just another plug for the awesome podcast knowledge fight. They covered portions of this on their last episode and it was pretty hilarious. AJ sounded wasted as hell.
