Welcome to the largest gaming community on Lemmy! Discussion for all kinds of games. Video games, tabletop games, card games etc.

Rules

1. Submissions have to be related to games

Video games, tabletop, or otherwise. Posts not related to games will be deleted.

This community is focused on games, of all kinds. Any news item or discussion should be related to gaming in some way.

2. No bigotry or harassment, be civil

No bigotry, hardline stance. Try not to get too heated when entering into a discussion or debate.

We are here to talk and discuss about one of our passions, not fight or be exposed to hate. Posts or responses that are hateful will be deleted to keep the atmosphere good. If repeatedly violated, not only will the comment be deleted but a ban will be handed out as well. We judge each case individually.

3. No excessive self-promotion

Try to keep it to 10% self-promotion / 90% other stuff in your post history.

This is to prevent people from posting for the sole purpose of promoting their own website or social media account.

4. Stay on-topic; no memes, funny videos, giveaways, reposts, or low-effort posts

This community is mostly for discussion and news. Remember to search for the thing you're submitting before posting to see if it's already been posted.

We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.

5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW

Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.

No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.

6. No linking to piracy

Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.

We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

Here are the basic photos of the rig:

This is the plastic and rubber manufacturing:

The residue from that goes into the turbofuel refineries:

some of it is packaged, the rest gets burned in 8 2x overclocked fuel generators for power:

But that's not all! I had to do quite a bit of infra to get the oil rig working, like:

Oil pipelines:

A train network:

(the last picture is the view from the tower i showed off in my last post here.)

and a compacted coal production building thing:

here are the details about the input/output:

inputs: outputs:
480 crude oil 205.5 plastic
165 coal 92 rubber
165 sulfur 45 packaged turbofuel
4000MW

All machines working at 100% with zero waste

please ask if you have any questions.

EDIT: here is the map

Yes, I have a question. Why doesn’t anything I build look a fraction as cool as this? πŸ˜‚

[–] cynar@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago (1 children)

It takes some practice to beautify it. You'll also spend more time doing that than the whole time taken to build the core.

[–] Blisterexe@lemmy.zip 11 points 8 months ago

i would have been able to build it quite a bit faster had i not wanted it to be pretty

[–] Wooki@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

All hail the spaghetti factories

Great. More fossil fuels destroying the climate and putting billions of people at risk of poverty and displacement.

And don't get me started on electronic Monopoly!

[–] Blisterexe@lemmy.zip 29 points 8 months ago (1 children)

That's the thing, it's on an alien planet, so the only ones at risk are the horrible aliens

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 14 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Oh, so you support genocide?

[–] Blisterexe@lemmy.zip 30 points 8 months ago (1 children)

They wouldnt die if they didnt impede on my automation, exploration and exploitation. So really, it's their fault.

It's for the good of FICSIT... ...and humanity

[–] ouch@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

Mostly FICSIT, though.

The stingers genotype would not be missed.

Satisfactory is a weird game where coal and oil are renewable, but trees, as far as I'm aware, are not.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 8 points 8 months ago (3 children)

Next you'll be telling me the wind turbines in the game cause cancer.

[–] Blisterexe@lemmy.zip 11 points 8 months ago (3 children)

Funnily enough, there are no renewable energies available

On purpose, I think the game did a great job at highlighting certain... Horrible practices we have lol

[–] Wooki@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Plenty of mods that do renewables!!

[–] 21Cabbage@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 8 months ago

and you burn through nuclear fuel like nobody's business.

[–] CarbonIceDragon@pawb.social 1 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

well no, there just arent any wind turbines as far as I remember. No solar either

[–] H1jAcK@lemm.ee 17 points 8 months ago

Wow I fucking suck at this game

[–] simple@lemm.ee 16 points 8 months ago (1 children)

The time and effort people put into these games never ceases to amaze me. This looks very impressive.

[–] Blisterexe@lemmy.zip 10 points 8 months ago

Thank you! The rig and surrounding infrastructure took 40-50 hours.

[–] Blisterexe@lemmy.zip 8 points 8 months ago

The math in this post was for this project btw.

[–] nick@midwest.social 6 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Holy shit dude that is impressive.

[–] krimson@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Awesome. Question, why did you not use the other 2 normal oil nodes as well?

[–] Blisterexe@lemmy.zip 7 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Because i didnt need them, i thought i may as well leave them free incase i need them for something else

edit: i am going to use them for my computer manufacturing
