It is wild how this keeps happening at every foundry Musk owns. Tesla, SpaceX, probs Starlink too we just haven't heard the lawsuits over it yet...

[–] reverendz@lemmygrad.ml 57 points 1 year ago

It’s almost like those companies are headed by a spoiled rich white kid from South Africa who grew up with apartheid…

[–] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Everyone involved in the first generation of starlink was fired from what I read. You can't have an old boys club if there is no old boys.

Give it time however, I am sure you are right.

Looks like Tesla isn’t the progressive company some people pretended it is.

[–] Destraight@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Which people specifically told you that Tesla was a progressive company?

[–] ahal@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Green energy was practically synonymous with progressiveness when Tesla was first gaining popularity.

[–] Destraight@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

That's more of a well rounded statement than specifically naming people, but ok

My more naive and younger self honestly believed Tesla were a shining example of capitalism done right. Now the only thing I believe they’ve honestly done is show the commercial and technical viability of electric vehicles to the rest of the auto industry, who proceeded to curbstomp them with better build quality. At this point, if and when I can afford a Tesla, I’ll be looking to other manufacturers instead.

Porsche’s offerings look quite nice..

Turns out the real tolerance problem at Tesla wasn't with the body panels but with the race of it's non white workers. Elon Musk should be shamed out of public life.

Elon Musk should be shamed out of public life.

That only works with people capable of feeling shame.

[–] Whoresradish@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago

This part says a couple things about discrimination there.

"One worker described the N-word as both his White co-workers' and supervisor's preferred pronoun on the production line," the lawsuit said.

And in breaking news,

checks notes

A company owned by a notorious Nazi is apparently full of Nazis.

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Is anyone surprised by this?

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

No, but Elon's cult will pretend to be surprised while being disappointed that it's not racist enough.

I mean swastika is a budist symbol nothing wrong with it, the threats are the bread and butter of any business regarding relation boss-worker, and the nooses I mean...sometimes you need to make one here or there to pull something up nothing wrong with it.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

The sad thing is I've heard people argue that about swastikas left in place where the intention was obvious.

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 0 points 1 year ago

Probably very true

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Incredibly racist and disgusting. Wow.
