Yes, me too, got the Defiant and the DS9 Station (with another mini-Defiant).

This looks like a Chinese knockoff, I'm surprised it's legit.

BlueBrixx is a German company making “Lego compatible” brick toy sets. Looks like they aim for more adult oriented sets hence the Star Trek and Star gate licenses. They also seem to produce military sets which Lego usually avoids.

They also do hilarious knockoffs of franchise they don't have the licence for. Like a pirate ship with black sails that is simply called N.P.B. (which stands for Not-Black-Pearl). The cool thing is the quality is comparable to Lego but the sets are more than half the price.

Just guessing the entire brand is a lego knockoff

...these look good!..i still regret having to sell off my playmates starships during the dot-com crash...

Well that is a brand new sentence no one has ever said before.

Nice haul! I wish I'd known about the existence of these sooner. I'd definitely have gotten a bunch of these.

I don't suppose you know if there's another company that's gonna end up with the license? From what I can tell, this company has only had the license for a few years (since 2021, I think). Seems a pretty short run for a franchise this big.

maybe lego'll grab it, idk, I hope not though, since lego makes a shitty and overpriced product these days

[–] camr_on@lemmy.world 10 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Overpriced I'd agree with, but the quality seems to be as high as ever imo

[–] osaerisxero@kbin.melroy.org 2 points 7 hours ago

I don't even know that I agree with that at this point. 5 years ago I would have maybe agreed but today they're right in line with what I would expect from a product whose quality didn't go down after inflation, since they didn't really raise prices after covid like everyone else.

I'll note though that I'm only talking about sets for the under 12 crowd, I haven't had occasion to buy any of the serous sets since the Tantive IV 20 years ago lol.

[–] osaerisxero@kbin.melroy.org 6 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Really? That's not been my experience with modern sets

[–] random@lemmy.blahaj.zone -2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

then you've been buying the right sets maybe, but it's still overpriced and they put all kinda of colours in their sets

[–] Lemjukes@lemm.ee 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I’m sorry but what kind of complaint is ‘too many colors’ when talking about Lego?

[–] VindictiveJudge@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

They might be referring to the brightly colored structural pieces. I got a batmobile, for example, that has a lot of vibrant colors for internal pieces even though the exterior is entirely black and grey. The bright colors are so the instructions are more legible (you can see what was added more readily) and can be surprising when you first open a set, but they're fully covered in the final build and you would only know they were there if you built it yourself. The giant Imperial Star Destroyer is a great example of a model with a lot of internal color.

ISD internal

I'm seeing credible-seeming rumours that Lego has acquired the license, but nothing official yet...

[–] Glitch@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Would still love instructions for a 5 thousand piece Enterprise and Bat'leth for mini figs:D

[–] random@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 13 hours ago

the mini figs are a legal issue unfortunately

[–] stargazingpenguin@lemmy.zip 3 points 16 hours ago

Really? That's disappointing. I have the original Enterprise and the Defiant in the size you have as well as the Spock figurine. They were really nice products overall.
