I recently lost my Cartier Santos. My insurance has paid out a £7500 gift card. What watch should I use to buy with it?

I own an Milgauss, Omega speed master racing and a Rolex Cellini dual time. I’ve never been a big fan of dive watches as I’m a dreadful swimmer. I don’t want to buy another santos (maybe a dumont?).

Maybe something on rubber?

Consider:

  1. A Panerai on rubber
  2. A high end MR-G G-Shock (they start at $3k and are incredible quality)

Owning both of the above, my vote would be MR-G. The new MR-G models are crazy good.

The MR-G would leave 60% of the voucher. I can never own a Panerai for two reasons; 1, the movement, 2, the only person I know who loves them is someone I can’t stand

There are $8k MR-G’s. You also don’t have to spend all the $.

Grand Seiko. That is, if you care more about impressing yourself than others !

Milgauss. Imho it's the best Rolex watch.

I think you misunderstood the question! This is already my collection. I lost the Cartier and got a voucher to replace it.

Why these two? I’ve avoided both due to the movement.

The Green Santos.

The Milgauss for sure… it is missing in my collection

Zenith Original Chronomaster 38mm

Personally, I'd go for either the Zenith sport chronograph someone else linked, a Glashutte Original Sixties with the amazing green dial (if one is available, I don't know the stock of WFS... and it's not from Switzerland), or - and this is my personal taste - save up for a bit and get on the AD's list for a blue-dial Yachtmaster. I know you said you don't dig divers, but that platinum bezel on the blue dial is just chef's kiss stunning in person.

I swear to God - if i see one more Cartier Tank - i would set the nearest silver-colored Audi on fire!
