Patiently waiting for the Netflix exclusivity to end on Monument Valley 3.

Don't like the subscription-only aspect of accessing games, though I will say they have a good catalog.

If Netflix cared about what members like, the games wouldn't be there in the first place.

They had me for a hot second because I saw Into The Breach on the app store 🤩

But you can't even run the game without logging in to a Netflix account 🤮

I mean I had one, but fuck that noise I'm not cosigning on that bullshit 😤

If you have an iPad, FTL is on there! Works pretty well, one-time purchase with no bullshit. Only log-in is optional Game Center connectivity.

And the content I want to watch (and used to watch) would be.

Say what you will, and I agree, but Civ VI on the phone is awesome. And since I'm paying for the subscription anyways it's kinda nice

I agree civ6 is awesome on a phone.

However, if you own the game on Steam, you could have been playing it on your phone long before Netflix ever opened their games division with Steam Link.

Civ6 is literally the only game I actually use Steam Link for (it's the only game that plays nice with the touch controls and isn't affected by any lag because it's turn-based anyway).

I hadn't played since Civ 3 until I saw this one in the Netflix apps. So steam link is a no go for me. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Netflix game. Still would not recommend getting a subscription to them just for games tho

Oh FYI not sure if you want to go down that rabbit hole, but... If you stream via sunshine/moonlight with hardware acceleration 4k120 is playable with minimal input lag. I stream Cyberpunk, RDR2, Indiana Jones to my OLED in the basement.

I'm usually playing over the internet when I am away from home. On LAN, everything works as if I wasn't even streaming, barring the occasional little hiccup in the networking traffic.

I just want Monument 3. I bought the first two but since 3 is tied to Netflix, I can't do that.

Wait. The last levels are on some timed release bullshit. It launched as like half a game.

It's barely a game anyway.

Netflix is so great at cancelling it's content now, they've figured out how to cancel things before they even release! Efficient!

I have the feeling that “what members like” is not “actually finishing a good show for fucking once”. Because that’s what I would have liked before I left.

I remember leaving mostly because I realized that I was watching the third generic New England super-natural series where the family moves back to the town the parents (or at least one parent) grew up in, the kids discover something mysterious and then it turns out it is linked to their parents' past. And they were all so boring I stopped after one or two episodes.

How about checking scripts for decent quality before throwing lots of money at the production of an entire series?

it's really what drives 'engagement' the most--especially the first week, and brings in the most new subs.
