I started eating strawberry tops. I don't mind it. Would you?

I've eaten them before, and they're basically leaves. 2/10. Would not recommend.

The green bit? In a word: no. I mean, we can eat them but they don't taste great.

[โ€“] Fizz@lemmy.nz 9 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Nope. I eat the sweet part my guinea pigs get to eat the top bite.

[โ€“] Maram@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

Oh I remove the top when I serve it to my tortoise, I never thought to just let him eat it too..

[โ€“] tleb@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 weeks ago

I came here to say the same thing! They love the top bit.

I think people use those for tea so they must be reasonably tasty. However, the ones in the store look pretty rough. I'd eat the greans on a fresh one though

Heck yes. I just popem whole. No waste.

I also eat kiwis like apples, so maybe I'm a freak.

[โ€“] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago

Kiwis and strawberries are easy. So are mangoes. Oranges and lemons are also pretty good, especially with salt.

My favorite fruit to eat with the peel are limes, pomegranates, bananas, and pineapple. The latter two especially freak people out.

I eat kiwis with the skin, still wouldn't eat the strawberry leaf

What kind of car is that?

[โ€“] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 3 weeks ago

Iโ€™m not sure why? I wouldnโ€™t, to answer the question.

[โ€“] Today@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I have a friend who eats whole strawberries and shrimp tails.

[โ€“] Nemo@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Nah. Apple cores all the way, though.

Building that cyanide tolerance

[โ€“] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

nope. honestly even strawberries are not sweet enough for me but the green part is just worse.

[โ€“] Corngood@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago

They should be sweet. Good strawberries do exist, but shitty ones are prevalent.

[โ€“] ReakDuck@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

Depends on how sweet they are. But sometimes yes. Sometimes I dont even notice the green part so good the strawberry is

[โ€“] kugel7c@feddit.org 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

It depends on the context in which the strawberry exists. Usually I won't eat the crown but sometimes I do. Specifically if there is a knife handy I probably don't eat it. If there is no knive it depends how hungry I am/ how much pressure there is to eat fast.
