Forget about the playoffs or finals matchups. What regular season was the most entertaining and why? Did it have the most competitive games were the majority of the teams playoff contenders?

I actually really liked the 2016-17 regular season. Last year was great too. Luka 60 20 10. DMitch and Lillard 70 pieces. My Kings drop 176 points.

AND the Nuggets won their first title, massive viewer ratings for a finals.

Was gonna say 2015/16 myself as u/lopea182 said. There was a different storyline every week with extremely competitive games throughout the season in both conferences.

Gordon/Lavine dunk contest was that season too.

‘89-‘90. It was a different game back then but that was a peak season.

Yeah. That was a great one. I was still a small teen, but everything smelled fresh. Kareem was gone, the Celtics seemed vulnerable and the Pistons were coming off a huge championship. I feel like many teams finally felt they had a chance. Also this was the year XMan became my favorite player and I became a Sonics fan. I'm almost sure that was the year the Warriors 'Run TMC' era started too.

2002 Western conference was crazy good on top despite the Sonics being annoying. I think the Lakers, Kings, Spurs and Mavs were all equals and games between them felt like game 7s. The east was pretty but there were a ton of middle teams fighting for spots. I wish the Kings had won that year though. Basketball would have changed for the better earlier.

Yea I wish the flopping, crybabies won a title over a real championship team

1987 - MJ, Bird, Magic and IT all pretty much in their primes

That’s even a nice book on it too:

Bro I don’t mean to be a dick but this question has been asked on this sub at least 1,000 times.

I looked up this question and all the answers were about that entire season with people explaining how good the finals or playoffs were. That’s not what I was interested in,

2005-06, 2011-12, or 2012-13

2016 - Lebron and Kyrie were must watch tv. Also Kobe drops 60 in his last game. 2001 - AI was incredible 1993 - Every Knicks game felt like a finals game. Almost dethroned MJ 2011 - Dirk
