They avoided KD so they could have a lot more of this

These guys are pretty good at basketball

Today it feels a little easier because MVP is a little more best-players than best-teams focused

What’s this Curry’s MVP season about?

Curry is playing great. So are other players.

Steph is outside the top 5 in most advanced stats.

Do you think he’s playing better than Jokic?

You just saw them play head-to-head. Come on now

Several of his contemporaries were able to get 2nd or even 1st at the BOD, so I don’t think this is so much about the competition:

Iniesta, Benzema, Modric, Mane, Van Dijk and Lewandowski are 6 guys that got closer than Neymar.

Haaland is about to do the same (assuming he gets at least second this year).

My most entertaining r/nba phantasy would be Russ winning FMVP. Oh, how the world would burn

Unfortunately, the mods would lock r/nba protesting against the new color of the app or something

Your comment doesn’t make sense to me

Averages close to 30 and people says he’s better than MJ: overrated

Averages close to 30 and people say he’s a bum: underrated

Averages close to 30 and people say he’s playing in the same level as Jokic/Giannis: Overrated

It’s always Steph - just look at the negs that will rain on me

People say he beat Lebron (like it was 1-on-1) when Bron always outplayed Steph (and basically anyone else)

I’ve seen him compared to MJ

I feel like 80% of Reddit can’t fathom the idea that prime KD might be on the same level

And I’ve been reading over and over that the first tier is Jokic/Giannis/Steph.

Steph wasn’t top 3 in the regular season. Steph wasn’t top 3 in the playoffs. But somehow an older Steph is clearly better than Luka, Embiid and everybody else

I don’t think it’s that hard.

We get so attached to these pre-season narratives but, by the All Star Game, nobody will care all that much about last years’

If everybody plays like last year, with enough games, I think he will easily make the top 3. And just because it was not that clear cut among Embiid, Jokic and Giannis.

If he’s somehow clearly better than Jokic/Giannis and/or gets a better record, he’ll get the regular season award.

Basically, if he plays well enough to deserve it, I think he’ll have a pretty good shot

It’s almost like they’re tricking yall, running around, doing nothing

I’m just surprised at people saying that Russ was a top 25 player, like he was a Kyrie/Khris/Jamal type of player

Russ was among the best of the best. Probably top 5ish/7ish and maybe better for a long while.

When OKC was winning 3-1 against the Warriors, Russ looked like the best player in the world alongside Bron (Steph, KD and Klay were playing in the same games).

From about 2014 to 2017 or so, the only players on the same tier (after Bron) would probably have been Steph, CP3, Harden, KD and maybe Kawhi… And not all of them would be peaking at the same time.

Russ was really really good.

1987 - MJ, Bird, Magic and IT all pretty much in their primes

That’s even a nice book on it too:
